No Fewer Than 98 Palestinians Have Perished in Detention Since October 2023, Official Figures Indicates
Based on figures from Israel, at least 98 Palestinian individuals have died while detained since October 2023. An advocacy organization based in Israel has reported that the true toll is almost certainly substantially larger, due to many of missing detainees originating in Gaza.

“While these policies are being applied, all Palestinian detainees in confinement faces risk, including the physically well individuals, even the juveniles who have no medical issues.”
Prominent Examples
Some deaths in detention have been high profile, such as a middle-aged healthcare leader who perished in detention after a third of a year in detention.
An inmate held with the victim stated that he was led to the courtyard by guards shortly before his passing, clearly wounded and naked from the hips downward. His body has not been repatriated to Gaza.
Other prisoners who lost their lives in detention in Israel stay unnamed. Correctional authorities and military supplied researchers with the total of deaths in confinement, and limited other details for example the facility where they died, but excluding the inmates’ personal details.
